Online Mixing, Mastering and CD Prep Services

Mixing

Whether you are mixing at a local studio or using our online services, there are a few steps you need to take before your project leaves your domain. So either way, this will help you prepare your project for mixing.

To send us your audio tracks:
• Listen to ALL of the tracks for each song and make sure all edits, punches and performances are clean and free of any pops, clicks or extraneous noises.
• Use either AIFF or WAV - 16 or 24 bit - 44.1K, 48K or 96K. Do not export as MP3.
• Bypass or disable ALL effects plug-ins - particularly reverbs. compressors and delays. If you used processing that is integral to the sound, like an amp modeler or chorusing on a guitar or Melodyne or AutoTune on a vocal, then those would be exceptions and should be inline when 'bouncing.' If you have the means, we would welcome a 'dry' version of such a track, just for flexability.
• Make sure ALL of the tracks in each song start at the exact same point (preferably at "0") on the timeline.
• Each track's filename should clearly reflect the contents. Examples: "Lead Vocal" - "Rhythm Guitar" - etc.
• Organize the songs and tracks using folders. Each song's tracks should be placed in a folder bearing the name of the song. All song folders should be in a master folder bearing the name of the artist or project tittle.
• Zip (compress/archive) the master folder.
• Use any of the free file transfer services to send us the Zipped folder. We recommend WeTransfer, or you can use another service such as Dropbox, or Hightail.
